Leif Horrell is a Johnstown, Pennsylvania native who cut his teeth playing in rock bands across Western PA throughout the 1980s. He later relocated to Colorado, then Portland, Oregon, where he remained active in the music scene for years before returning to Pittsburgh in 2013. In 2025, Leif re-engaged with the local music community — and the timing couldn’t have been better.

Leif discovered Radio 45 by pure coincidence and immediately recognized something different. His Western Pennsylvania musical journey mirrors that of Radio 45’s Scott Gilbert, Gary Bickerstaff, and Mark Wesesky almost perfectly. They played the same towns, during the same era, often on the same weekends — yet never crossed paths.

Until Now.

Leif was an immediate and natural fit for both the musical style and personality of the band. He joined Radio 45 toward the tail end of recording a new album scheduled for release in Spring 2026, and his guitars and vocals are featured on the record’s first single, arriving in January 2026.
