For Yinz About To Rock, the upcoming full-length release from Pittsburgh’s Radio 45, falls firmly into the latter category. The record represents three years of writing, performing, refining, and pushing past second-guessing — not to follow trends, but to get the music right.

This record didn’t come from chasing fads, algorithms, or whatever was hot that week. It came from years of playing the same rooms, hauling the same gear, second-guessing mixes, rewriting parts, and pushing each other to get it right. The result is a collection of songs built on guitars, melody, harmony, and the kind of work ethic Western Pennsylvania understands.

THE PLAYERS

Vocalist Gary Bickerstaff reflects on how musical dreams evolve. “What starts as visions of stadiums and chart success often becomes something more lasting: creating music that honors the years, influences, and passion poured into the craft. This album is that realization — a gratitude-filled nod to the music that shaped the band.”

For Yinz About To Rock is the sound of musicians who stayed in the game long enough to understand why they started. It’s about gratitude for the music that shaped the band, respect for the craft, and the joy of creating something honest — with nothing left to prove.

Lead guitarist Aaron Greer describes the process as deceptively simple. “Rock and roll doesn’t need to be complicated — but doing it well requires care, experience, and honesty. Every song on the album reflects that mindset: built deliberately, played with intention, and designed to make listeners feel something first.”

For bassist and keyboardist C. Scott Gilbert, the album is also a testament to perseverance. “Bands, like any creative endeavor, face doubt — from outside voices and from within. But when music is in your blood, walking away isn’t an option. For Yinz About To Rock captures those moments when everything aligns between bandmates and the reason for continuing becomes clear.”

This record was not made quickly — or casually. It was built over years of shows, rehearsals, doubts, late nights, and moments when everything suddenly worked the way the band hoped it would. Rock and roll may be simple at heart, but doing it right takes care, patience, and belief in the people standing next to you.

Drummer Mark Wesesky (aka. Msexy) brings a lifelong love of vinyl to the project, making Radio 45’s first full-length release on wax deeply personal. The experience of dropping the needle on a record from a band he’s proud to be part of connects him directly to the music that inspired him decades ago — a joy he hopes listeners will share, no matter the format.

Guitarist and keyboard player Leif Horrell discovered Radio 45 by accident in 2025 — and was smart enough to recognize what the band was doing. “WOAH. These guys sound — and LOOK — like no other local band I’ve seen. They’ve got it together.” Fortunately, the band was smart enough to recognize that Leif’s skill set was a perfect match to help with their goals. Leif joined the band in time to help wrap up recording on For Yinz About To Rock.

THE RECORD LABEL

Produced in partnership with SodaPop Records, the album also reflects the perspective that comes with experience. According to label representative Joni Vayda, “the project stands out for its authenticity, professionalism, and absence of ego — five seasoned musicians focused solely on making something meaningful.”

BAND BIO

Radio 45 is a Pittsburgh-based rock band rooted in classic power-pop energy and forged by decades of shared regional experience. The members grew up playing the same towns, many of the same stages, often at the same time — long before they ever shared a band.

In 2026, Radio 45 expands its sound with the addition of guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist Leif Horrell, a Johnstown, PA native whose musical path mirrors the band’s core story. His arrival during the final stages of recording helped lock For Yinz About To Rock into focus.

Radio 45’s live shows are high-energy, tightly paced, and built to move a room — no dead air, no wasted moments, just songs that hit and keep coming.

THE RELEASE

For Yinz About To Rock is Radio 45’s first full-length album — proudly made in Pittsburgh, for Pittsburgh.

The album’s first single arrives on February 1 2026, with the full release following in Spring.

The album will be available on limited edition vinyl, compact disc, digital download and digital streaming.
