HISTORY

Radio 45 band members include former Bon Journey front-man Gary Bickerstaff, Aaron Greer and C. Scott Gilbert of recording artists Aaron Greer Band and Ten point Ten, Pittsburgh session drummer favorite Mark Wesesky, with Johnstown-native Leif Horrell joining the band in 2026. The band is signed to indie label SodaPop Records Limited, based in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania.

Gilbert founded the band in 2022, bringing together musicians he’d worked with in his past. Bickerstaff and Gilbert played in bands together in high school. Wesesky was “the drummer across the hall” during Gilbert’s time at Clarion University. Greer and Gilbert were signed to Infinity Records 15 years ago, released 2 albums and scored a #2 single on Billboard’s Satellite Radio charts. Newcomer Horrell played in rock bands throughout Western PA in the 80s before relocating to Colorado and then to Portland Oregon where he continued to be active in music. Moving to Pittsburgh in 2013, Horrell discovered Radio 45 at a random show in 2025.

Bickerstaff’s powerful vocals and Greer’s high-energy guitar riffs are the driving force behind Radio 45’s live show. Rhythm section bassist/keyboardist C. Scott Gilbert and drummer Mark “Msexy” Wesesky — and newcomer Leif Horrell — add a cohesive and dynamic audio foundation to the mix — rich, nostalgic and fresh — a perfect launch pad for Bickerstaff and Greer.

Together, these five mates from western Pennsylvania formed an immediate bond described as a “rare mix of charisma, emotional intelligence and social awareness — something that cannot be taught, bought or sold.”
